About Me
Aisha Tofa is an ecosystem architect and institutional partner working at the intersection of innovation, policy, capital, and inclusive economic growth in Northern Nigeria. She serves on the Executive Board of Startup Kano Center for Innovation Development, a leading innovation and ecosystem platform that enables market access, partnerships, and innovation infrastructure for youth and women-led ventures and emerging technologies.
With over a decade of experience across the startup ecosystem, development, and social impact sectors, Aisha has played a central role in structuring and delivering multi-stakeholder programs and partnerships that connect governments, development partners, corporates, and founders. Through these initiatives, startups and ventures within her ecosystem have collectively accessed significant funding and growth opportunities, while programs she has helped design and oversee have reached tens of thousands of young people across Nigeria. Aisha is the Principal of Blue Rock Ltd, a private enterprise and contracting company that structures, implements, and manages innovation, digital economy, climate, and financial inclusion initiatives for public and private institutions seeking credible execution and market entry in Northern Nigeria. Her work focuses on institutional deal structuring, ecosystem design, stakeholder coordination, and translating development objectives into scalable, sustainable systems.
She is also a Venture Partner at Sabou Capital, where she supports deal sourcing, ecosystem intelligence, and founder support, with a particular focus on early-stage ventures, inclusive business models, and opportunities emerging from underserved markets in Northern Nigeria.
Aisha has led and contributed to projects and partnerships with organizations including the British Council, UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, United Nations, FCDO, Sterling Bank, the Enterprise Development Centre, the Mastercard Foundation, and Google.
In addition, Aisha chairs the Women Founders Group, a not-for-profit platform advancing women’s education and economic resilience in Africa, and convenes the Women Founders Conference; one of Nigeria’s leading platforms for dialogue on women, technology, entrepreneurship, and economic inclusion.
She has a strong background in communications and media, and is a member of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community and a Gates Foundation Goalkeeper. A multiple award recipient, Aisha was named among the 100 Most Reputable Africans in 2026, by the Global Reputation poll in recognition of her leadership, influence, and contribution to innovation and inclusive economic development.
She also serves on the boards of select companies and platforms, providing strategic guidance on growth, governance, and ecosystem expansion.
